Amsterdam……finally
The trip of a lifetime is finally happening. I flew to Seattle from Arizona on Wednesday the 30thof March. Thursday the 31th my daughter, Jennifer, and I got to the airport the requested 3 hours ahead of the flight departure with all the required forms filled out. We were checked in and on our way to the Delta Sky Club in 45 minutes!!! So a few hours of people watching and a glass of wine for me.
Delta non-stop flight from Seattle to Amsterdam departed approximately 5:35pm. Flying first class is a real experience.
A very long, 9+ hour flight, not much sleep, a 3 course dinner with real silverware, real plates and glasses, and a chocolate dessert. A breakfast of egg frittata, fresh fruit, coffee and sweet roll and soon we were landing.
Our transfer to the Amsterdam Hilton went smooth. Room was ready. There was a short group meeting about the museum tour for the next day.
Jennifer and I headed out for a walk. It was cold 40’s and windy. Bicycles everywhere. We found a local deli and brought sandwiches back to our room.
Very tired we tried to sleep…..more soon.
Sounds like your trip is off to a great start. On a long trip, there is nothing like First Class. Are you with a tour group?
