While watching playoff baseball I finally finished Red Bird, a painted canvas by Tish.

The original background was suppose to be a grey darning stitch. I wanted to bring in some of the beautiful sky colors of Arizona. I kept the darning stitch but used a Needle Necessities overdye with the pinks and purples that I sometimes see in sunrises or sunsets. When that was completed I felt like the overdye looked like it didn’t belong so I added an over two diagonal border. Now I like it much better. Note the strings of beads that make her necklaces.

What to go back to stitching on is my next decision. I have my Tital Textures… but I don’t know if I’m ready to make a lot of decisions. I might go to a counted piece where I just have to follow directions

I love the sky, and I agree that the border is perfect. It’s amazing how something simple can make such a big difference.
