Indian Summer Finished

September 23, 2014

Indian Summer Complete

This was a fun project. Using threads from my stash made for an interesting result. Watching it take shape I wasn’t sure what the final outcome would be but it turned out OK. I would have used a couple of different colors if they had been available.

I did enjoy manipulating the Watercolors in each quarter. Practice always helps. For those of you who have not tried this option I would suggest you give it a try. The process involves 1) cutting lengths of Watercolors with color runs that you want to use 2) separate three strands and put one aside (I say this because you will only use two of the strands in most cases) 3) When you begin stitching, carefully note where you anchor your thread. Be sure to anchor in the same place when you begin a second area. This makes sure that the colors will stitch in the same order. I save the third strand of Watercolors to use in another project where I will randomly let the colors flow.

Now I will search for a new project……I do have a few to choose from 🙂

This is lovely. I like the way the colors all blend, which is pretty amazing since you stitched it all from stash.

Indian Summer turned out so nice. I love the colors. I’m continuing to follow your blog; started with 2008 and am now up to the latter part of 2014. It’s been fun watching your process and your progress.
