Plum Blossom Kimono 8/2

August 2, 2011

I have completed the right sleeve.  There was one area that was very intense but most were great fun. The intense area is the upper right area.  There are three colors and it was a challenge to fine the holes for the second and third step.

Although the collar was suppose to be the last area. I did it after completing the sleeve.  I had the canvas upside down so why not do the collar while it was convenient.

Next came the long narrow bands down each side of the center of the kimono.  This was time consuming but not difficult.  The stitch is a woven braid and once I got the pattern down it was very realxing to just sit and stitch.  Each side is a mirror image of the other.

I am now taking a couple days to stitch up two teacher’s nametags for the 2012 ANG seminar. I like to get “have to’s” done way before any deadline.

This is such a beautiful project and you’re doing a great job at having fun with it. Seems like it goes faster when you break it down into small areas. Lovely colors too!
